A moment's reflection will reveal the simple logic and wisdom behind this observation. Think about that for a moment. Why, of course, you are right! Your mind can only think and absorb one thing at a time. Thats why.
Right, wrong, good or bad, or even indifferent, the first impression, the first idea, the first of anything will occupy a creneau, will take a position in the memory bank, and will lodge forever in every persons' mind, and influence and affect all future perceptions.
The keypoint to remember is that you cannot erase or improve a bad "first impression", by trying to make it better. You can only change it to something "different".
Our wise parents and sage teachers have advised and taught us to "always put our best foot forward and make sure we give a good first impression". What many of us may not have understood as equally critical-crucial is the real reason behind this admonition. And the truth is, rarely, if ever, will anyone get a second chance in life to try and correct a bad first impression, however innocently one may have created or given it, at the first encounter.
That's just the way things are. We are stressing this for effect and for a very important reason. Again, you cannot correct or improve a bad first impression. You can change a bad first impression, only by creating a second opportunity to create a different good first one.
